Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aznar Thrul (ranked 2013 p4p, 261 weight class) and Yoki Mayoniko (ranked 2348 p4p, 284 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrul looks to land a combination but Mayoniko avoids it well.
Thrul seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Thrul pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mayoniko back to the cage. Thrul follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Thrul feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Thrul paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mayoniko takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mayoniko fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thrul looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Thrul looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Thrul is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mayoniko can do to turn this around?
Mayoniko looks for the body kick but Thrul saw that one coming.
Thrul lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mayoniko lands with a hook. Thrul tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thrul closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Thrul is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mayoniko looks calm but he's in trouble here. Thrul gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mayoniko is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Thrul lets go of the hold and Mayoniko can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Aznar Thrul decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
