Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Sexyama (ranked 2049 p4p, 270 weight class) and Sascha Koniezko (ranked 1484 p4p, 209 weight class). Koniezko has chosen Imperial March (L.O.D. Rage Mix) as his entrance music. Sascha Koniezko will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koniezko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sexyama is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Koniezko.
We've been hearing reports that Sexyama has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

and Koniezko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Koniezko lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Yoshihiro Sexyama has been cut.

Koniezko darts in and clinches Sexyama up against the cage.

Sexyama is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Koniezko can't fight it off and eventually Sexyama manages to take the fight to the floor. Koniezko looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sexyama throws an elbow that misses. Koniezko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sexyama's guard. Nice move by Koniezko!

Sexyama is looking for a triangle but Koniezko pushes his legs off easily.
Koniezko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Koniezko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sexyama has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koniezko has managed to get both his arms back between Sexyama's legs - danger averted.
Sexyama is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sexyama seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Koniezko wants to get back to his feet.
Sexyama passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Koniezko!
Sexyama can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Koniezko is looking to escape.

Sexyama jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Koniezko is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Koniezko and Sexyama has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sexyama working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Koniezko is pushing Sexyama's head away, looking to escape. Sexyama manages to hold on to the position though.

Sexyama is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koniezko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Koniezko felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Sexyama tries for a kimura but Koniezko is defending well.

Sexyama throws a big shot that misses.
A little jabbing left from Koniezko on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sexyama walks into a left hand.

Koniezko lands a left and a right that send Sexyama crashing to the mat, dazed. Koniezko thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Sexyama is rocked!

Koniezko feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sexyama sprawling to the canvas! Sexyama rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Koniezko finish him?!
Oh Sexyama is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Koniezko lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Sexyama tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Koniezko's elbow.
Sexyama trying to control the position but instead, Koniezko has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sexyama into the cage.

Sexyama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sexyama get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Sexyama stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Koniezko runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Sascha Koniezko decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
