Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoel Mir (ranked 2809 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew West (ranked 2883 p4p, 0 weight class). West has chosen Roy Jones - Can't be touched as his entrance music. West has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir misses with an uppercut.
Mir slips a jab and a cross from West.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mir, right into the meat.
Mir scores with a nice strike.
West throws a right hand that Mir ducks under and follows up with a left that Mir also avoids with ease.
West checks a leg kick.
West throws a nice looking combination but Mir bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
West looks winded!
A head kick misses from Mir.
Nice body kick from Mir.
A combination from West does no damage.
Mir throws out a loose jab but West uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mir digs a good body shot into West's ribs.
Mir misses with a body kick.
Mir connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed West momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mir dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on West. That did some damage!
West takes one on the button.

It looks like Andrew West has been cut.
Mir keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mir lands a nice shot to the body.

West has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mir.
Mir lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
West is rocked!
Mir lands a jab to West's midsection.
Mir scores with a push kick.
Mir tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mir is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Mir clinches up against the cage.
Mir misses with a knee to the head.
West takes a knee right on the jaw!
West is still on wobbly legs! Can Mir finish him?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mir tries a knee to the head but West blocks it.
Mir has West pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. West is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Mir - that's hurt West badly! Oh, another knee lands and West is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but West doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Yoel Mir!
Yoel Mir seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
