The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Nikos shoots in and bounces Diaz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Diaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nikos controls the pace.
Diaz is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Diaz is trying to escape the position but Nikos is controlling the position.
It looks like Nikos might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nikos has the hooks in. Diaz is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
