Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danilo Gentili (ranked 1044 p4p, 119 weight class) and Charles Briscoe (ranked 3636 p4p, 306 weight class). Charles Briscoe will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Briscoe!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briscoe throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Briscoe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Briscoe scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gentili to see if he's OK.

We've been hearing good reports from Gentili's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Gentili tries to lock up and control but Briscoe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Briscoe fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gentili is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Gentili is bucking up trying to escape but Briscoe cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Briscoe jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gentili is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gentili and Briscoe has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gentili manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Briscoe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gentili with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gentili is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Briscoe pulls his head out easily.

Briscoe throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gentili to regain full guard.

Gentili escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Briscoe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gentili has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Briscoe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Briscoe chips away with some ground and pound.
Briscoe wants to control from the top but Gentili keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gentili is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Briscoe.
Danilo Gentili seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Briscoe rushes Gentili and presses him up against the cage.
Briscoe landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Briscoe lands a knee to the body.
Briscoe doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Briscoe misses with a punch to the body.
Briscoe unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gentili lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Briscoe tightens his grip and picks Gentili up, before dumping him to the ground. Gentili manages to land in guard.
Briscoe wants to control from the top but Gentili keeps moving.
Briscoe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Briscoe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Briscoe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Briscoe stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Gentili throws up his legs and catches Briscoe in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Briscoe tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Gentili! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Danilo Gentili!
