PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hyryx Dall (ranked 149 p4p, 23 weight class) and Alex Asztalos (ranked 161 p4p, 27 weight class). Dall comes into the arena with Rattlesnake blaring out of the sound system. Asztalos is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dethroned Emperor by Celtic Frost. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Hyryx Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Asztalos!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asztalos throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dall fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Asztalos blocks a jab.
Asztalos has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Asztalos takes a swing at Dall's ribcage but misses.
Dall feinted with a counter takedown.
Asztalos takes one to the chin there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Asztalos.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Asztalos.
Asztalos lands with a nice body punch.
Dall walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dall moves out of range of the body kick.
Asztalos misses the shot to the body.
The fighters circling - Asztalos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Asztalos throws out a loose jab but Dall uses good head movement to avoid it.
Asztalos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dall has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A slow jab from Dall misses its intended target.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A swing and a miss from Asztalos.
Dall gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Asztalos scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dall slips a straight right by Asztalos.
Dall fires out a quick counter leg kick but Asztalos just manages to avoid it.
Asztalos wants to land a leg kick but Dall is out of range.
Dall attempts a counter takedown but Asztalos avoids it well and moves away.
Asztalos swings widly with a right hand
and Dall counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Alex Asztalos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asztalos misses with a wild body shot.
Asztalos misses with a leg kick

and Dall counters with a shoot takedown. Asztalos fights it but they end up in guard.
Dall looking to sit in guard and control but Asztalos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Asztalos wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Dall's closed guard. He's half up but Dall has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Dall pivots and extends the arm, Asztalos falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Dall! Well done that man!

Hyryx Dall decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
