The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barnes gets a double leg takedown into Silva's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva strikes from his own guard.
Barnes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Barnes pushes his legs off easily.
Silva throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Barnes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silva is trying to hold Barnes in close to prevent damage but Barnes has managed to pass into half guard.
Silva is looking to control Barnes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?

Barnes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

Silva is trying to control but can't.
Barnes really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barnes haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Barnes is working for a submission of some sort.
Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Barnes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barnes's back!

I really don't envy Barnes right now.

You can see the frustration on Barnes's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Silva is not going to allow Barnes to sit and survive in this position.
Barnes is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Silva lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Barnes hold on?!

Silva is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Barnes has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Silva has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Barnes taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Silva doesn't care though - he's delighted!
