Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Russell Bell (ranked 8119 p4p, 466 weight class) and Andrew Stern (ranked 5903 p4p, 408 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Russell Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Stern!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bell's waist but Bell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stern off to one side.
Bell scores with a head kick. Stern tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bell misses with a shot to the body
and Stern counters with a two punch combo.
Stern misses with a body kick.
Bell appears to be looking for a big counter.
Stern thows a leg kick but Bell checks it
and Bell counters with a two punch combo.
Bell circles away from the clinch attempt
and Bell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bell walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stern pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stern connects with a solid leg kick.
Bell is looking to chop away at Stern's legs.
Stern lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Stern throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bell counters with a two punch combo.
Stern misses with a head kick.
Bell throws a head kick that misses.
Bell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bell circles away from the clinch attempt.
A lazy body kick from Stern
and Bell counters with a good low kick that Stern was not able to check.

Bell darts in and clinches Stern up against the cage.

Stern's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jab by Bell.
Sloppy strikes from Bell. Those never looked like landing.
Stern pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bell went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bell gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stern will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As Stern tries to get set, Bell tries to push him back and clinch up but Stern manages to avoid the attempt.
Bell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stern swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bell rushes Stern and presses him up against the cage.
Bell has had enough of the clinch but Stern keeps him there for the moment.

Stern escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stern misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stern.
Russell Bell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Stern.

Bell attempts a counter takedown but Stern avoids it well and moves away.

Bell tries to clinch but Stern moves out of range.
Bell wants to clinch up but Stern keeps it at a distance.

Bell has taken the fight to the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Stern fails to land.
Stern lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Stern scores with a shot to the side of Bell's head.
Bell tries to break free but Stern pushes him back against the cage.
Bell is trying to break the clinch but Stern is controlling him.
Stern lands a body punch.
Bell lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Stern scores with a shoulder strike.

Bell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bell is trying to force a seperation but Stern has the dominant position.
Stern prevents Bell from breaking the clinch.
Stern makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Stern tries to work over Bell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Stern fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Stern taking a breather.
Stern blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bell wants to get back to striking at distance but Stern won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Russell Bell will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bell takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Stern shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bell sprawls well. Bell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stern gets slowly back to his feet.
As Stern looks to move away, Bell throws a big counter combo but Stern just gets out of the way.

Bell gets tackled into the cage by Stern. Stern maintains the clinch.
Bell working hard to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bell is trying to push Stern away but Stern has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Stern misses with a hook to the ribs.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bell.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stern.
Andrew Stern seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stern creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Stern jumps guard but Bell stands there with Stern around his waist. Stern gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stern's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Stern drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Russell Bell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Stern.

Bell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bell, right into the meat.
Bell tries to clinch there but Stern circles away.
Stern wants to counter with a clinch but Bell pushes him away.
Stern throws a nice head kick!
Stern tries to close the distance and clinch but Bell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bell tries to clinch up but Stern circles away and keeps his distance.
Stern buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Stern changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bell tries to avoid it but Stern manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bell to the ground. Bell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stern swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bell misses with a double jab
and Stern counters with a two punch combo.
Stern lands an overhand right.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Stern throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Stern tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bell counters with a low kick, right behind Stern 's knee.
Bell takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stern is trying to defend but Bell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Stern is looking for a sweep. Bell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bell stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Stern to get to his feet.
Stern throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Stern. That snapped Bell's head back.
Bell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stern pinned against the cage. Stern gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stern can pounce on him.
Stern fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stern lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


Bell is rocked!

Stern shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Stern slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Stern lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Andrew Stern!
