Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Ricket (ranked 4081 p4p, 427 weight class) and Jackson Villa (ranked 4979 p4p, 497 weight class). Ricket comes into the arena with One Foot blaring out of the sound system. Villa has chosen Jimmy Eat World - The Middle as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jackson Villa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa misses with a takedown attempt - Ricket sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Villa avoids the head kick by Ricket.

Ricket moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ricket darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Villa drops back looking for a leg! Ricket is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ricket manages to kick Villa off! Villa jumps back into Ricket's guard.

Villa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Villa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ricket wants to stand and escape but Villa is having none of it.

Ricket throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Villa shoots for a takedown but Ricket saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ricket has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Villa is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricardo Ricket will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jackson Villa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ricket leaves Villa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

As Ricket backs off Villa throws a huge counter combo but Ricket manages to avoid it all.
Villa dives in for a single leg takedown but Ricket sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ricardo Ricket seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Villa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ricket sprawls well. Ricket wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Villa gets slowly back to his feet.

Ricket is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Villa can do to turn this around?
