Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Aliev (ranked 25925 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Stroev (ranked 25978 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Aliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Stroev!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aliev wants to land a leg kick but Stroev is out of range.
Aliev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stroev avoids the head kick by Aliev.
Stroev tries to counter with a clinch but Aliev shakes him off and moves away.

Stroev moves into the clinch.
Stroev stalls.
Aliev has had enough of the clinch but Stroev keeps him there for the moment.

Stroev gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Aliev regains guard.

Stroev decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Aliev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stroev circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stroev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aliev pinned against the cage. Aliev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Stroev fails with a takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aliev throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Aliev closes the distance and clinches up with Stroev, looking for a takedown. Aliev pushes Stroev against the cage but Stroev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Aliev is breathing heavily.

Stroev clinches up against the cage.
Stroev drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aliev gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Albert Aliev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Stroev.
Aliev is looking to break free of the clinch but Stroev has double underhooks.
Aliev fails to pull guard.

Stroev gets control of Aliev's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stroev will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Aliev is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Stroev has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Aliev is looking to defend but Stroev has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Aliev! Stroev pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Aliev taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Victor Stroev!
