Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raul Long (ranked 8583 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilberto Silva (ranked 5754 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Long bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Long on his heels. He'll look to pass Long's guard now, I'm sure.
Long could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Long wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Long closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Silva sneaks out the side door and pushes Long away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Long shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Long throws a big elbow that misses.
Silva throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Long wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Long is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Long is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva wants to sweep but no luck.

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Long rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Long is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
