Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ralph McGucken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitsu Nagai!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from McGucken misses
and Nagai counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
McGucken is looking to clinch but Nagai is avoiding it.
McGucken throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nagai sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A jab lands there for Nagai.
McGucken shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nagai defends it nicely.
McGucken scores with a decent looking hook.
McGucken has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Main Event in the buildup to the fight.
Nagai looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
McGucken shoots in and drives through. Nagai sprawls well.
Nagai replies with a solid counter kick to the body but McGucken blocks it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGucken takes a swing at Nagai's ribcage but misses.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Nagai.
McGucken fails in his attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - McGucken looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McGucken shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nagai as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ralph McGucken. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McGucken throws a predictable looking body shot
and Nagai counters with a stiff right hand.
Nagai throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Nagai buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
McGucken throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nagai throws out a counter right but McGucken avoids it with no problem.
McGucken tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nagai was well out of range. Poor timing from McGucken.
Nagai lands a leg kick that knocks McGucken off balance momentarily.
McGucken takes a kick to the side of the head.
McGucken misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Nagai counters with a thumping low kick.
McGucken is breathing heavily.
Nagai avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A jab from McGucken misses.
Nagai stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McGucken moves out of range of the body kick from Nagai.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nagai circles away from the clinch attempt
and Nagai counters with a nice body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGucken tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
McGucken tries to clinch but Nagai moves out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nagai.
An inside leg kick lands from Nagai.
McGucken takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A decent looking cross lands there for Nagai.
McGucken is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Both fighters circling a little - Nagai finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

McGucken shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Nagai makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
McGucken takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Ralph McGucken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nagai scoring well with a low kick there.
McGucken gets cracked there but stands up to it.
McGucken fails in his attempt to clinch.

Nagai lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nagai lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Nagai throws out a powerful jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - McGucken looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McGucken takes one on the button.


McGucken is rocked!
McGucken on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Oh McGucken is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Nagai.
McGucken seems to have got his legs back now.
Nagai feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McGucken's calf.
Nagai fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops McGucken to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! McGucken looks to clinch but Nagai throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! McGucken taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Mitsu Nagai!
