Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joh Fabnik (ranked 8067 p4p, 307 weight class) and Nick Holey (ranked 4879 p4p, 223 weight class). Fabnik comes to the cage accompanied by COLD. Joh Fabnik has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joh Fabnik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Holey!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Darius Henderson and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabnik throws a body shot but no joy.
Holey blocks a head kick by Fabnik.
Fabnik scores with a leg kick.
Holey has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Fabnik cracks a nice hook into Holey's ribs.
Holey attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Holey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fabnik to the mat! Fabnik manages to get full guard.
Holey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fabnik has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Holey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Holey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Holey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fabnik defends it nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Holey tries for a takedown but Fabnik sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fabnik wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Fabnik throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Holey counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Holey lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fabnik is breathing heavily.
Holey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Fabnik tries to roll over but Holey keeps him under control.

Fabnik prevents Holey from improving position.

Holey looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Fabnik is letting Holey control him for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holey stands up.

Holey fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fabnik to the ground. Holey is now in Fabnik's guard.
Fabnik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holey works over Fabnik with some ground and pound from guard.
Holey wants to pass the guard but Fabnik is keeping the position.
Holey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Holey controls from within his opponent's guard.
Fabnik working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Holey.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Holey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Fabnik misses the shot to the body.
Holey should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Fabnik tries to land knees in the clinch but Holey avoids the damage to the body.
Fabnik creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Fabnik trying to control the position but instead, Holey has worked for underhooks and has pushed Fabnik into the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Holey's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Holey is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Fabnik gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Holey.

Joh Fabnik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Holey.
Fabnik goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Holey is trying to drag Fabnik to the mat but Fabnik just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fabnik with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Holey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Fabnik fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Fabnik fails with an attempt to clinch.
Holey tries to counter with a clinch but Fabnik shakes him off and moves away.

Holey dives in and scores a takedown into Fabnik's guard.

Fabnik can't keep his opponent in guard - Holey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Holey is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Holey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fabnik with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fabnik looks like he's trying to stand up.
Holey slows the pace down in half guard.
Fabnik wants to sweep but Holey has passed to side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Holey tries to pull guard but Fabnik forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sloppy strikes there by Holey.
Fabnik tries to improve position but can't.
Holey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Holey is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Fabnik looks calm but he's in trouble here. Holey gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Fabnik is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Holey lets go of the hold and Fabnik can pop his arm back in it's socket.
