Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Diablo Renner!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marven clinches up with Renner and pushes him back against the cage.
Renner tries to score a body lock takedown but Marven shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Marven escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Renner misses with a takedown attempt - Marven sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Marven moves in looking to clinch but Renner pushes him off.
As Marven backs off Renner throws a huge counter combo but Marven manages to avoid it all.
Renner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Marven thuds his shin into the meat of Renner's side.

Marven gets the takedown into side control.
Renner bucks up and tries to throw Marven off but instead Marven has got his back!
A lull in the action here.
Renner is trapped and Marven is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marven wants to control but Renner is keeping busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Marven lands a nice shot to the head.
Renner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marven. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Renner is just holding on here. Marven manages to take his back.
Marven punishes Renner with strikes from the back mount.
Renner prevents Marven from getting a body triangle.
Renner looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Renner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marven sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Renner somewhat.
As Renner looks to move away, Marven throws a big counter combo but Renner just gets out of the way.

Marven moves into the clinch.
Marven gets underhooks to prevent Renner's takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Renner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Marven is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Renner is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

John Marven overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Renner looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Marven passes into side control.

Renner is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marven asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
You can see the frustration on Renner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Marven works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Renner tries to bench press Marven off him but Marven keeps the position.

Marven tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marven has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Renner tries to strike but it doesn't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Marven working the ground and pound.
Marven remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Renner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Renner can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Renner is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Marven is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Renner is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Marven preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Renner landing with the ground and pound.
Renner wants to control from the top but Marven keeps moving.
Marven is adopting a defensive guard.
Marven is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Renner can do to turn this around?

Renner has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marven is proving hard to escape from.
Renner is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Marven drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marven jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Marven is keen to just control but Renner is a slippery customer.
Marven frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Renner wants to hold on but Marven pushes him away.

Renner is wriggling around trying to escape.
