Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Molby (ranked 6570 p4p, 641 weight class) and Yggdrasil Livre (ranked 7612 p4p, 680 weight class). Yggdrasil Livre will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Molby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Yggdrasil Livre!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Molby.
Molby takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Molby shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Livre cracks Molby with a right hand to the side of the head.
Molby looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Molby tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A little jabbing left from Livre on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Molby moves to clinch but Livre breaks away
and Livre cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Molby closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Livre to the mat! Livre manages to get full guard.
Molby throws a big right hand that misses.
Livre seems keen to control Molby's posture.
Molby tries to free his leg and advance position but Livre is retaining full guard.

Molby wants to control from the top but Livre keeps moving.
Livre seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Molby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Molby is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Molby looking for a guillotine here but Livre defends easily.
Molby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Molby manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Livre manages to get himself to full guard.

Livre utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Molby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Livre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Molby makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Molby.
Livre is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Livre is continuing to stall.
Molby is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Livre is staying active underneath Molby, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Yggdrasil Livre will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Livre can do anything to dispel that myth.

Molby moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Livre has worked his arm free - good work by Livre!

Livre felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Molby throws a wild body kick that Livre sees coming a mile off.

It seemed like Livre was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Livre connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Livre bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Livre connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Livre might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Livre makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Molby shoots in for a takedown but Livre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Livre jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Livre lunges at Molby with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Molby's hand.

Molby takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Yggdrasil Livre seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Livre lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Livre dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jan Molby is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Molby wants to clinch up but Livre keeps it at a distance.
Livre swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Livre stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Molby. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yggdrasil Livre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

Yggdrasil Livre decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
