Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Lapris (ranked 23645 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tristan Barolo (ranked 23572 p4p, 0 weight class). Barolo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Waltz. Tristan Barolo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Lapris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tristan Barolo!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barolo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lapris as he jumps to the side.
Lapris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lapris wants it to stay on the feet.
Lapris tries to counter with a takedown but Barolo is quick to defend against it.
Barolo throws a hook to the side of Lapris's head but Lapris sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lapris misses with a wild body shot.

Lapris gets a takedown into half guard.
Barolo is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lapris seems to be working for a kimura but Barolo defends the submission attempt.

Lapris looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Barolo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lapris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barolo is staying active underneath Lapris, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lapris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barolo tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Lapris has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barolo.

Barolo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Carlos Lapris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Barolo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Lapris pulls Barolo in close to his closed guard and prevents Barolo from doing any damage or advancing position.

Barolo is looking to pass into half guard but Lapris pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lapris is in guard.

Lapris drops back looking for a leg! Barolo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barolo manages to kick Lapris off! Lapris jumps back into Barolo's guard.

Lapris is working Barolo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Lapris slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Barolo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lapris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lapris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lapris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Barolo wants to stand and escape but Lapris is having none of it.
Barolo wants to sweep here but Lapris controlling him for the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Barolo fails with the takedown.
Barolo shoots in for a takedown but Lapris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Carlos Lapris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tristan Barolo.
Lapris throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lapris takes a swing at Barolo's ribcage but misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Barolo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lapris's half guard.
Lapris is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Barolo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barolo's back!

Lapris fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barolo manages to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Barolo enables Lapris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Barolo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Barolo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lapris has passed into side control.

Lapris in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Barolo is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carlos Lapris!
In his post fight interview, Carlos Lapris started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
