Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Miller!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miller.
As Miller looks to move away, Thompson throws a big counter combo but Miller just gets out of the way.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Miller is defended easily by Thompson.

Miller has managed to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson lands a hook that snaps the head of Miller backwards.

Thompson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Thompson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Miller!

Miller manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thompson on his heels. He'll look to pass Thompson's guard now, I'm sure.

Miller throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thompson was covering up waiting for the punch and Miller finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Miller wants to get up but he can't break Thompson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Thompson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Miller might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Thompson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miller is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Miller misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It looked like Thompson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Miller throws a head kick but Thompson moves out of range.

Miller fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Thompson to the ground. Miller is now in Thompson's guard.

Thompson is looking for a triangle but Miller pushes his legs off easily.

Thompson has his hands on Miller's head, controlling the position.

A close round but John Miller will probably get the nod.
That's time! Thompson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Miller lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thompson circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miller looking to sit in guard and control but Thompson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Thompson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Thompson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Miller manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Thompson has Miller in his guard.

John Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
