Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 3805 p4p, 409 weight class) and Max Paddy (ranked 3540 p4p, 385 weight class). Max Paddy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin shoots in for a takedown but Paddy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Austin has a takedown stuffed.

Paddy rushes Austin and presses him up against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Paddy.
Paddy's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Paddy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paddy creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Austin's defenses.

Paddy has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Austin regains guard immediately.

Austin keeping moving, preventing Paddy from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paddy wants to stand but Austin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Paddy passes Austin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Austin has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Austin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Paddy pulls his head out easily.

Austin wants to improve his position but Paddy is controlling well.

Paddy is looking for a kimura but Austin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Paddy to get the leverage.
Austin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Paddy passes to full mount!
BOOM! Paddy connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Austin can't escape the position.
Austin is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Paddy tries to control but Austin wriggling away.
Austin is working to get back to half guard.

Paddy keeps control of the position as Austin tries to break free.

Paddy is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Austin is defending well though. Paddy let's go of the attempt for now.

Austin won't enjoy being in this position. Paddy looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Austin is tapping - it's over boys! Paddy picks up the submission victory!
