The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcregor has his takedown stuffed

and Griffith counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Griffith.
Griffith tries to circle away but Mcregor has him pinned against the cage.

Mcregor jumps guard and drags Griffith to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Mcregor looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Griffith tries to stand but Mcregor is controlling from the bottom.
Griffith has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffith gets to his feet - Mcregor follows without any prompting.

Mcregor fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Griffith to the ground. Mcregor is now in Griffith's guard.

Griffith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcregor on the ground.
Mcregor postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
