PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Connor Cross (ranked 5262 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chinggis Khaan (ranked 2816 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chinggis Khaan!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cross clinches.
Cross is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Khaan working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Cross is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Khaan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Cross is trying to maintain a safe position but Khaan gets an underhook and turns Cross into the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Khaan.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Khaan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Khaan pulls guard effortlessly.

Khaan has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cross should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Khaan has tightened it up now! Cross should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Chinggis Khaan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
