PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Lecter (ranked 685 p4p, 96 weight class) and Jorge Morueco (ranked 1247 p4p, 160 weight class). Lecter comes to the cage accompanied by The Hannibal Lecter Sonr. Morueco has chosen The Pretender as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Lecter misses its intended target.

Morueco pushes Lecter up against the cage in a clinch.
Lecter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Morueco's elbow.
Lecter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Morueco dodges an elbow strike from Lecter.
Morueco tries to pull guard but Lecter holds him up against the cage and eventually Morueco drops back down to his feet.

Morueco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morueco tests Lecter's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lecter circles away from the clinch attempt
and Lecter counters with a stiff right hand.
Lecter swings for the body but Morueco moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lecter scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Morueco throws a jab but it's blocked by Lecter.
Lecter throwing a counter right hand but Morueco manages to avoid it.
Lecter throws out a powerful jab.
Morueco throws a hook but Lecter avoids it easily.

Morueco manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lecter on his heels. He'll look to pass Lecter's guard now, I'm sure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lecter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Morueco is looking to pass into half guard but Lecter pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lecter is in guard.

Lecter throwing strikes but missing.
Lecter wants to control from the top but Morueco keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morueco is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lecter defends well.

Morueco has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lecter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lecter is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Morueco has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lecter is looking to defend but Morueco has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lecter! Morueco pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lecter taps out and this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Jorge Morueco thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
