Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther York (ranked 22023 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bwanali Longwe (ranked 8980 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think York might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Hated" by Beartooth. Longwe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by kojo funds dun talking. Bwanali Longwe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Longwe drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
York looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Longwe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by York, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Longwe working the ground and pound but York is defending the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longwe tries to move to full mount but York actually manages to regain half guard.
Longwe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with York. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
It looks like Longwe is going to stand back up.

York could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Longwe wants to pass the guard but York is defending well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Longwe wants to free his trapped foot but York is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
York keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
York wants to control but Longwe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Longwe is pressing down on York's thigh, looking to free his foot. York is holding on for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Longwe throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. York tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Longwe is in York's guard.

Longwe has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. York is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Longwe.

A close round but Bwanali Longwe will probably get the nod.

Longwe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Longwe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

York might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Longwe wants to stand but York is controlling his posture from full guard.

Longwe lands a couple of elbows.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Longwe wants to control from the top but York keeps moving.
Longwe wants to pass the guard but York is keeping the position.

York is working an open guard so Longwe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Longwe lands a left and a right that send York crashing to the mat, dazed. Longwe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

York is rocked!

It looks like Luther York has been cut.
Longwe lands with a big right hook that stumbles York - he's out on his feet here! Longwe follows up with another monster hook that separates York from consciousness! York falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Longwe stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
