Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joel Delgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zanfanz Mazing!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mazing shoots in and gets a takedown into Delgado's guard.
Delgado could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mazing looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Delgado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mazing manages to get himself to full guard.


Delgado stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Delgado closes the distance and clinches.
Mazing blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Delgado gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Mazing pushes Delgado off but Delgado dives into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mazing is trying to control Delgado's posture but Delgado avoids it.

Delgado has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Nice body punch from Delgado.

Delgado tightens his grip and picks Mazing up, before dumping him to the ground. Mazing manages to land in guard.
Delgado works over Mazing with some ground and pound from guard.

Delgado gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Delgado is working for takedown but Mazing is calmly controlling the position for now.

Delgado turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Delgado manages to end up in side control.

Delgado stands up and beckons Mazing to his feet.

Delgado shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mazing is looking to stand back up but Delgado counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mazing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Still in half guard, Delgado seems content to control.

Delgado stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Mazing to get to his feet.

Delgado gets the takedown into side control.
Delgado content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Mazing wants to control but Delgado postures up.

Delgado decides to stand back up. Delgado steps back and let's Mazing get back to his feet.

Delgado fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mazing, pushing him back against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Delgado postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mazing to stand up.

Delgado feints and as Mazing raises his hands in defense, Delgado changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mazing tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mazing shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Delgado napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Delgado changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mazing looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mazing is breathing heavily.

Delgado is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mazing has escaped the position, nice work there.

Delgado has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Delgado gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Delgado breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A low kick from Mazing is predictable there

so Delgado counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Delgado is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mazing can do to turn this around?

Delgado gets to his feet - Mazing follows without any prompting.

Mazing wants to get back to his feet.

Mazing wants to control but Delgado is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Delgado is controlling the pace.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Delgado is defended easily by Mazing.
Mazing steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Mazing throws a push kick but Delgado slaps the foot to one side.
Delgado fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joel Delgado. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Delgado rushes Mazing and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mazing gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Delgado to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Delgado dives in and grabs Mazing's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mazing pushes down on Delgado's head and hops out.
Delgado throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mazing.
Delgado shoots in but Mazing avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mazing gets caught flat footed, as Delgado shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mazing wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Delgado manages to pass to side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Delgado decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Delgado swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Delgado avoiding damage.

Delgado gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mazing regains guard.
Mazing wants to get back to his feet but Delgado passes into half guard.


Delgado decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Delgado closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mazing looks to move to half guard but instead Delgado has passed into mount! Damn!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Delgado has hold of Mazing's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mazing manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Zanfanz Mazing has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joel Delgado is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mazing has given up his back. Will we see Delgado going for some submissions?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Delgado, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
