Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Basil Morrison (ranked 25466 p4p, 0 weight class) and Singed Lee (ranked 7919 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Roundtable Rival -Lindsey Stirling as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Basil Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Singed Lee!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee scores with a jab. Morrison acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lee lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Morrison doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lee counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Morrison pinned against the cage. Morrison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Morrison is looking for a counter combo.

Lee drives through and clinches with Morrison against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee pulls Morrison into guard.
Lee has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at MMA My Way. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Morrison works over Lee with some ground and pound from guard.
Morrison preventing the sweep.
Lee trying to keep a closed guard but Morrison is proving a slippery customer.
Morrison makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Morrison with a flurry of punches that miss.

Morrison throws a big elbow that misses.
Morrison lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Morrison is working Lee over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Morrison postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Morrison accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lee wants to stand up but Morrison is controlling him.
Lee looks winded!
Lee looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Morrison throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Morrison is controlling Lee's posture.
Lee throwing strikes from guard but Morrison blocks nicely.
Lee tries to stand but Morrison is controlling from the bottom.
Morrison looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Morrison throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Lee counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Morrison thinking.
Lee lands a jab to Morrison's midsection.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lee works over Morrison's head and body with a nice combination.
Lee moves out of range of the body kick.
Morrison stuffs the takedown.
The fighters circling - Morrison throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Morrison could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lee blocks a head kick by Morrison.
Morrison shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Morrison gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Morrison pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lee throws a counter combo.
Morrison blocks a head kick by Lee.
Morrison fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lee is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Morrison. Lee shrugs it off though.
Morrison slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
Morrison scores with a push kick.
Morrison tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morrison shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard.
Morrison throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lee wants to control from the top but Morrison keeps moving.
Lee is breathing heavily.

Morrison is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Morrison wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Morrison is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Morrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Morrison looks to throw a body kick
and Lee counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Morrison shoots in and gets a takedown into Lee's guard.
Morrison throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely.
Lee wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Morrison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lee trying to control the position.
Morrison in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Morrison has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Morrison cracks Lee with a solid left hand.
Morrison lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lee sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Singed Lee seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Morrison closes the distance and clinches.
Lee tries to pull guard but Morrison forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Basil Morrison dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Morrison clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the cage.
Lee can't get the takedown.
Morrison blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Morrison tries to work over Lee's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Morrison's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lee looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Morrison pushes Lee off and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morrison instigates a clinch.
Lee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morrison tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Morrison struggling a bit here.
Morrison dodges the ground and pound from Lee.
Morrison regains half guard.
Basil Morrison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lee trying to control the action but Morrison is working from the bottom.
Morrison pushes Lee off looking to stand but Lee dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morrison has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Morrison throws a leg kick
and Lee counters with a one-two to the body.
Morrison looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Morrison clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the cage.
Morrison takes a knee to the side of the body.

Morrison fails to pull guard.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Lee is trying to pull guard but Morrison turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Morrison pulls Lee into guard.
Morrison has control of Lee's left arm, preventing Lee from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morrison keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Morrison pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lee content to stall in guard here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Basil Morrison showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Morrison has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
