PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jaydolf Kiltler (ranked 6060 p4p, 536 weight class) and Jerry OLeary (ranked 25136 p4p, 704 weight class). Kiltler comes into the arena with March! blaring out of the sound system. OLeary has chosen U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jaydolf Kiltler could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jerry OLeary's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaydolf Kiltler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerry OLeary!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kiltler clinches with his opponent.
Kiltler blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
OLeary is trying to stall.

Kiltler manages to break the clinch.

Kiltler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches OLeary napping and manages to drive through into side control!
OLeary tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kiltler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kiltler is chipping away with strikes.
OLeary tries to bench press Kiltler off him but Kiltler keeps the position.

Kiltler decides to stand up, so the ref orders OLeary to his feet.
OLeary shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kiltler as he jumps to the side.
Kiltler avoids a kick to the body.

Kiltler moves into range and clinches up with OLeary.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kiltler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
OLeary closes the distance and clinches up with Kiltler, looking for a takedown. OLeary pushes Kiltler against the ropes but Kiltler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
OLeary shoots in looking for a takedown. Kiltler tries to sprawl out of it but OLeary keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Kiltler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jaydolf Kiltler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry OLeary.
OLeary tries to clinch there but Kiltler circles away.
Kiltler feinted with a counter takedown.

OLeary tries to keep at a distance but Kiltler has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kiltler darts in and clinches OLeary up against the ropes.
Kiltler lands with a left to the head.
OLeary is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
OLeary tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kiltler just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Kiltler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kiltler feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to OLeary's calf.
OLeary tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kiltler gets a double leg takedown into OLeary's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kiltler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Kiltler stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows OLeary to get to his feet.
OLeary tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kiltler defends well and OLeary ends up having to push Kiltler into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

OLeary closes the distance and clinches up with Kiltler, looking for a takedown. OLeary pushes Kiltler against the ropes but Kiltler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
OLeary misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Kiltler decides to stand back up. Kiltler steps back and let's OLeary get back to his feet.

OLeary jumps guard but Kiltler turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Kiltler avoids the elbow strike from OLeary, against the ropes.
Kiltler wants a takedown.
OLeary tries to pull guard but Kiltler holds him up against the ropes and eventually OLeary drops back down to his feet.

Kiltler drags the fight down to the ground.
OLeary trying to control the position from guard on top but Kiltler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Kiltler dives in and scores a takedown into OLeary's guard.
Jaydolf Kiltler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kiltler is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
OLeary really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kiltler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kiltler seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down OLeary for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kiltler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with OLeary, pushing him back against the ropes.
OLeary is trying to pull guard but Kiltler has him pressed against the ropes.

Kiltler has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics OLeary uses from the top position.

OLeary must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kiltler is scooting his butt against the ropes and has managed to get back to his feet. OLeary presses him back against the ropes, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Kiltler is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but OLeary is defending well.

OLeary jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kiltler walks away with a smile on his face. OLeary gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kiltler has an Americana. OLeary didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kiltler is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kiltler hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jaydolf Kiltler!
Jaydolf Kiltler made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I am not a sheep fucker!'.
The defeated Jerry OLeary had this to say: 'Don't stop the fight, I'm not punch drunk yet!'.
