Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dale Bomber (ranked 1481 p4p, 192 weight class) and Brent Reid (ranked 2773 p4p, 305 weight class). Reid is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: At The Hundredth Meridian - The Tragically Hip. Dale Bomber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dale Bomber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brent Reid!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Bomber.
Reid throws an overhand right that lands on Bomber's shoulder, as Bomber tries to avoid the shot.
Bomber slips under a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Reid has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Reid shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bomber napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bomber dodges the ground and pound from Reid.
Reid throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Bomber parries the strikes from Reid easily there. Reid is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bomber to escape.
The ground and pound from Reid seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Reid is working Bomber over with some ground and pound from side control.
Reid scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bomber to see if he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reid sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bomber is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Reid throws an elbow but Bomber slips to the side and avoids it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Reid scoring with punches and elbows.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reid working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Reid moves into full mount!
Reid trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bomber blocking the ground and pound.
Reid thowing shots but they're missing.
Bomber holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Reid tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Reid jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bomber manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reid goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bomber has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Reid but great work by Bomber.
Reid is trying to escape the position but Bomber is controlling the position.
Reid regains half guard.
Reid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Reid has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bomber is working away from the top position though.
Reid is pressing down on Bomber's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reid looking for a sweep. Not yet Reid, not yet.

Reid working for a triangle but Bomber defends it easily.

Reid looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bomber passes into side control.
You can see the frustration on Reid's face as Bomber controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reid gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brent Reid dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Reid shoots for a takedown but Bomber saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Reid fails to land the takedown.
Bomber connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Reid momentarily.
Reid takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Reid thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bomber appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Reid is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bomber.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reid throws a looping overhand right but Bomber ducks down to avoid it.
Bomber cracks Reid with an open hand slap.


Reid is rocked!
Bomber stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bomber wants it to stay on the feet.
Reid is still on wobbly legs! Can Bomber finish him?
Dale Bomber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brent Reid.
Reid throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Bomber counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dale Bomber!
