PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lalama Amana (ranked 1874 p4p, 221 weight class) and TopOf FoodChain (ranked 3867 p4p, 413 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. FoodChain catches Amana right on the button with a cross.
Amana misses the jab.

FoodChain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amana is fending him off so far but FoodChain persists. Nope, Amana circles away and we're back to standing.

FoodChain has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Amana is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

FoodChain looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Amana on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Amana tries to get out of the position.

Amana makes his way to full guard, as FoodChain worked for a kimura.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
FoodChain wants to control from the top but Amana keeps moving.
FoodChain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amana swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Amana might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
FoodChain trying to control but Amana is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Amana is looking to stand up but FoodChain isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

FoodChain throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Amana sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Amana lands a really nice looking cross but FoodChain seems unphased.
FoodChain takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Amana throws out a loose jab but FoodChain uses good head movement to avoid it.

FoodChain shoots in and bounces Amana off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

FoodChain manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

FoodChain changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Amana fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Amana throws a shot from downtown. FoodChain moves away and avoids it.
Amana tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and FoodChain counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Amana!

FoodChain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Amana, who protects the arm well.

FoodChain is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Amana knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

FoodChain swings around for an armbar but Amana sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into FoodChain's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lalama Amana will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

FoodChain throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Amana is looking to clinch but FoodChain is avoiding it.
Amana tries to close the distance and clinch but FoodChain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
FoodChain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Amana as he avoids it easily.

FoodChain connects with a good right hand that stumbles Amana. Amana circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

FoodChain changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amana looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
FoodChain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amana keeps working.

FoodChain is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Amana has escaped the position, nice work there.

FoodChain thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

FoodChain swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
