Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chosu McGrady (ranked 3882 p4p, 317 weight class) and Kalevi Koski (ranked 2879 p4p, 257 weight class). Kalevi Koski has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chosu McGrady's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chosu McGrady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kalevi Koski!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrady looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Koski cracks McGrady with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Koski dips to his left and cracks McGrady with an uppercut!

McGrady rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGrady dives in and grabs Koski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Koski pushes down on McGrady's head and hops out.
McGrady has been working on his boxing with his coaches at VEGAS Top Team [$550/week] in the buildup to the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chosu McGrady. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGrady shoots in for a takedown but Koski shows good takedown defense.
Koski connects with a looping right hand.
Koski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Koski stuns McGrady with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Koski lands with a cross.

Koski gets caught flat footed, as McGrady shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Koski seems keen to control McGrady's posture.
McGrady is looking to work some ground and pound but Koski has wrist control.

McGrady wants to control from the top but Koski keeps moving.
Koski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
McGrady tries to free his leg and advance position but Koski is retaining full guard.
McGrady throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Koski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGrady gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Koski seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Koski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Koski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Koski seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Koski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McGrady can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Koski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

McGrady thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Koski looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kalevi Koski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Koski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McGrady fails with a takedown attempt.

McGrady shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Koski napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Chosu McGrady overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Koski avoids any damage from the ground and pound of McGrady.

McGrady decides to stand back up. McGrady steps back and let's Koski get back to his feet.
McGrady shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Koski pinned against the cage. Koski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koski throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Koski lands a right hand.

Koski lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Koski is pressed up against the cage. McGrady has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Koski down to the mat. Koski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Koski lands a really nice looking cross but McGrady seems unphased.
McGrady darts in looking for a takedown but Koski gets double underhooks and turns McGrady into the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A slapping leg kick lands for Koski.
McGrady walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


McGrady is rocked!
Koski lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as McGrady crumples to the floor! Koski milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kalevi Koski!
Kalevi Koski decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
