The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sokoudju gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sokoudju gets control of Burns's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sokoudju will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sokoudju trying to keep a closed guard but Burns is proving a slippery customer.
Burns lands a couple of elbows.
Sokoudju thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sokoudju keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sokoudju holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sokoudju looking to hit a scissor sweep but Burns is one step ahead there.
Burns wants to control from the top but Sokoudju keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A right-left combo lands from Sokoudju.

It looks like Marquis Burns has been cut.

Burns tries to sprawl but Sokoudju drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sokoudju is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Burns is trying to control but can't.
Burns is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sokoudju is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Sokoudju changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Burns looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sokoudju working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Sokoudju is working to tighten his grip on Burns's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Burns has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sokoudju is really squeezing tight and eventually Burns passes out! Sokoudju breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
