Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erich Stanley (ranked 25698 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eliezer Kubanza (ranked 25894 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erich Stanley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Eliezer Kubanza!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kubanza shoots in and bounces Stanley off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stanley is trying to control the position but Kubanza postures up.
Stanley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kubanza manages to get himself to full guard.

Stanley lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kubanza wants to sweep here but Stanley controlling him for the moment.
Stanley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stanley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kubanza, up you get!

Kubanza shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kubanza showed some decent athleticism there.
Stanley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kubanza is working away from the top position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stanley has one foot on Kubanza's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Kubanza feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kubanza wants to control from the top but Stanley keeps moving.

Stanley is looking to stand up but Kubanza isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Stanley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kubanza as he avoids it easily.

Kubanza fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stanley, pushing him back against the cage.
Kubanza is trying to stall.

Kubanza gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Stanley kicks Kubanza off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kubanza closes the distance and pushes Stanley back into the cage.

Stanley breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Stanley gets caught flat footed, as Kubanza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Stanley has his feet on Kubanza's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Stanley is breathing heavily.
Kubanza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kubanza closes the distance and clinches.
Stanley has Kubanza pressed against the cage, preventing Kubanza from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Stanley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kubanza scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stanley moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stanley has momentary wrist control but Kubanza slips an elbow through the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stanley is trying to keep Kubanza in close.
Stanley wants to stand but Kubanza is controlling the position.
Kubanza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stanley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kubanza chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Erich Stanley will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kubanza gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Stanley prevents Kubanza from breaking the clinch.

Kubanza gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Stanley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stanley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kubanza's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kubanza's back!

Stanley is working for a rear naked choke. Kubanza is not defending it well and Stanley has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Kubanza refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Kubanza's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Erich Stanley!
