Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Davos Kung (ranked 22655 p4p, 762 weight class) and Leon Opstad (ranked 2900 p4p, 339 weight class). Opstad is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Moby - Natural Blues. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Leon Opstad was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davos Kung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leon Opstad!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Opstad scores with a nice head shot.
Kung walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kung doesn't manage to clinch there - Opstad circles away.
Opstad throws a jab when Kung was well out of range.
Kung changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kung looks for a takedown but Opstad sprawls well.

Opstad steps into range and cracks Kung with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Kung flops backwards and Opstad dives into his guard looking to finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Opstad throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Opstad is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Opstad drops back looking for a leg! Kung is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kung manages to kick Opstad off! Opstad jumps back into Kung's guard.
Opstad content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Opstad has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Opstad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kung swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Opstad won't allow Kung to sweep him here.
Opstad is pushing down on Kung's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kung is fighting to maintain full guard but Opstad has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kung is trying to stand back up but Opstad is controlling him

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Opstad postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kung to stand up.
Opstad tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A combination from Kung does no damage.
Opstad slaps away a takedown attempt from Kung, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Opstad shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Opstad is working for a kimura but Kung is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Opstad seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kung on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Opstad has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kung defend it? Opstad steps over the head and cranks it - Kung is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Opstad!
