PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ebyn Dall (ranked 523 p4p, 65 weight class) and Royal Pain (ranked 915 p4p, 118 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Under the Blood. Pain has chosen AC/DC Thunderstruck as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 20 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royal Pain!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dall counters with a body kick that stops Pain in his tracks momentarily.
Pain lands the left hand.

Pain clinches up against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Dall has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Pain blocks an uppercut.
Dall misses with a hook to the ribs.
Dall blocking some punches.
Dall struggles to land a body shot inside as Pain controls his hands.
A short right from Dall on the inside.
Pain misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dall tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A head punch on the inside from Pain fails to land.
Dall misses with a punch to the body.
Dall lands a left hand.

Pain blocks an uppercut.
Dall misses with some punches.
Dall tries to work over Pain's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Pain blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Pain breaks from the clinch.
Dall lands with a good body shot.
Dall throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pain on the side of the head.
Pain throws a right hand that misses
and Dall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Pain moves into the clinch.
Dall lands a nice uppercut.
Dall blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Dall breaks the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pain throws out the jab.
Dall slips under a jab.
Pain shoots in looking for a takedown. Dall tries to sprawl out of it but Pain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pain misses with a lunging right hand
and Dall counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pain closes the distance and clinches up with Dall, looking for a takedown. Pain pushes Dall against the cage but Dall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A quick step to the side and Dall tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dall takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Dall thuds a left hand into Pain's body.

Pain moves into range and clinches up with Dall.
Dall gets through Pain's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dall creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A head punch on the inside from Dall fails to land.
A short uppercut from Dall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pain shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dall defends it nicely.
Ebyn Dall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royal Pain.
Pain tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Dall connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pain throws the kick towards the body but Dall avoids it.
Ebyn Dall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A telegraphed right hand from Pain misses the target.
Pain lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pain doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dall counters with an inside leg kick.
Pain misses with a looping left.
Dall bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pain's head backwards.
Pain throws a combination that misses
enabling Dall to counter with a crisp jab.

Pain is rocked!
Royal Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dall swats away the attempt to clinch by Pain.
Pain doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dall counters with a nice body shot.
Pain looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pain looks to clinch
and Dall counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pain's knee momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pain with a poor takedown
enabling Dall to counter with a crisp jab.
Pain is still on wobbly legs! Can Dall finish him?
Dall looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Dall backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Pain's temple! It sends Pain violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Dall celebrates and the doctors try to help Pain!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Ebyn Dall!
In his post fight interview, Ebyn Dall started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
The defeated Royal Pain had this to say: 'Shit, there goes my chance to be like Mike.'.
