Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Armando Guthrie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Barron Blade!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blade forces Guthrie back against the cage and clinches.
Blade is pushing Guthrie up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Blade pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Blade throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Blade scores with a takedown into Guthrie's guard.
Guthrie keeping full guard, as Blade tries to pass.
Guthrie wants to stand up but Blade is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blade trying to control the position from guard on top but Guthrie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Guthrie is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Blade is controlling him.

Blade looking to sit in guard and control but Guthrie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Guthrie wants to control from the top but Blade keeps moving.
Blade wants to sweep but no luck.
Blade has a closed guard, preventing Guthrie from standing up.
Blade seems keen to control Guthrie's posture.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blade wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Guthrie is now in half guard.
Blade is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Guthrie jumps into side control!
Blade is trying to control Guthrie's posture but Guthrie avoids it.
Guthrie is staying tight to Blade's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guthrie with the ground and pound but Blade regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Blade keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Blade is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, if Guthrie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Blade wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Guthrie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Blade sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Guthrie somewhat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Guthrie checks a leg kick nicely.
Guthrie appears to be looking for a big counter.
Guthrie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Guthrie misses with a body kick.

Blade gets a clinch.
Guthrie wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Guthrie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Blade after a bit of a struggle.
Guthrie is trying to drag Blade to the mat but Blade just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armando Guthrie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Blade pulls guard successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Guthrie postures up.
Blade is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Guthrie is controlling him.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blade tries to free his leg and advance position but Guthrie is retaining full guard.
Blade trying to control but Guthrie is working from the bottom.
Guthrie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Guthrie manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Blade looking to score a takedown here. Guthrie is defending well but Blade drives through and ends up in Guthrie's guard.

Guthrie is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Blade presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Guthrie is trying to pull guard but Blade turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Blade drags the fight down to the ground.

Blade trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Blade throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Guthrie scoring with punches to the head and body.
Guthrie scoring with some ground and pound.
Guthrie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blade can do anything to dispel that myth.
Guthrie throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Guthrie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Blade closes the distance and clinches.

Blade has picked Guthrie up - he's going for a ride! Blade dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Guthrie kicks Blade off and gets back to his feet.
Blade is breathing heavily.
Blade keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Guthrie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Guthrie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Blade prevents a body shot from Guthrie.

Blade decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Guthrie, up you get!

Blade closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Guthrie did well to prevent Blade getting side control.

Blade looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Guthrie throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Blade seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Guthrie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Blade thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Blade perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Guthrie desperately trying to maintain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Armando Guthrie will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Blade moves into the clinch.

Blade's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Blade fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guthrie sprawls well initially but Blade persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Armando Guthrie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Guthrie tries to kick Blade off but Blade keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Blade seems to be looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blade wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Guthrie uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Guthrie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Blade should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Guthrie has tightened it up now! Blade should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
