Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kaplan Temrezov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Aliev!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Temrezov circles away from the clinch attempt

and Temrezov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Aliev's guard.
Temrezov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Temrezov tries to free his leg and advance position but Aliev is retaining full guard.

Temrezov gets to his feet. Aliev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Temrezov closes the distance and clinches up with Aliev, looking for a takedown. Temrezov pushes Aliev against the cage but Aliev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Aliev pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Temrezov back to the cage. Aliev follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Aliev shoots and misses

and Temrezov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Temrezov.

Temrezov pulls guard successfully.
Temrezov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aliev is trying to keep Temrezov in close.

Aliev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Temrezov controls the pace.
Temrezov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aliev swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Temrezov stuffs the takedown.

Temrezov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aliev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Aliev is trying to get back to his feet.

Temrezov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Temrezov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Temrezov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Temrezov lands a decent elbow from side control.

Temrezov decides to stand back up. Temrezov steps back and let's Aliev get back to his feet.

Temrezov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aliev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Aliev tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Temrezov controls the action.

Temrezov is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Temrezov punishes Aliev with strikes from the back mount.

Temrezov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Aliev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Temrezov is in Aliev's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Temrezov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Temrezov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Temrezov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Temrezov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Aliev looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Temrezov engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Temrezov gets to his feet. Aliev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Temrezov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Aliev's half guard.
Temrezov not doing much here.
Aliev wants to improve his position but Temrezov is controlling well.
Aliev is breathing heavily.

Temrezov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Aliev for as long as he can get away with.
Temrezov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Temrezov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Temrezov looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Aliev wants to control but Temrezov is keeping busy.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Temrezov lands a nice short elbow.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Temrezov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Temrezov prevents Aliev from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Temrezov in particular looking to stall.
Temrezov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Aliev can do to turn this around?
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Temrezov stands up and beckons Aliev to join him on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaplan Temrezov dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Temrezov is looking to cinch up a triangle. Aliev throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Temrezov's body to avoid the submission. Temrezov has instead reached around Aliev's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Temrezov arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kaplan Temrezov!
