Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Filipovic (ranked 3738 p4p, 407 weight class) and Pit Canthropus Jr (ranked 5197 p4p, 511 weight class). Filipovic comes to the cage accompanied by The Wild Boys - Duran Duran. Canthropus Jr has chosen Daddy Wasn't There as his entrance music. Pit Canthropus Jr acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic throws a wild body kick that Canthropus Jr sees coming a mile off.
Filipovic avoids a kick to the body.

Canthropus Jr drives through and clinches with Filipovic against the cage.

I was talking to Filipovic's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Filipovic fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Canthropus Jr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Filipovic throws a head kick but Canthropus Jr moves out of range.
Filipovic pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
As Filipovic backs off Canthropus Jr throws a huge counter combo but Filipovic manages to avoid it all.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Canthropus Jr looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Good leg kick by Canthropus Jr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Filipovic fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Canthropus Jr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
