Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Dunlop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Yelats!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunlop closes the distance and clinches up with Yelats, looking for a takedown. Dunlop pushes Yelats against the cage but Yelats circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dunlop wants to land a leg kick but Yelats is out of range.
Dunlop throws a combination. Yelats tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like King Yelats has been cut.
Dunlop ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yelats moves away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yelats has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Yelats looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dunlop is fending him off so far but Yelats persists. Nope, Dunlop circles away and we're back to standing.
Yelats tries for a takedown but Dunlop sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dunlop lands a nice hook to Yelats's body. Yelats takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Dunlop lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Yelats is defending against the submission attempts here by Dunlop.
Dunlop will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dunlop perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dunlop is trying to control. Yelats wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yelats avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dunlop.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yelats can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dunlop prevents Yelats from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dunlop is thwarting Yelats's attempts to control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dunlop in particular looking to stall.
Dunlop is nestled in close to Yelats, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dunlop works his way into full mount!

Dunlop has control of Yelats's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yelats regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Yelats avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dunlop.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dunlop throwing strikes here but Yelats is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Dunlop throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Dunlop is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Yelats is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mick Dunlop!
A very excited looking Mick Dunlop made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
