PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chew Kok (ranked 1348 p4p, 186 weight class) and Simple Jack (ranked 2964 p4p, 348 weight class). Kok's entrance music is Back from the grave-by GRAVE. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chew Kok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Simple Jack!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jack avoids the body shot from Kok.
Jack walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kok throws a looping overhand right but Jack ducks down to avoid it.
Jack keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kok misses with a straight right.
Kok misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jack tries a quick counter leg kick but Kok is wise to it.
Kok works Jack's body with a nice hook.
Kok lands a really nice looking cross but Jack seems unphased.
Kok missing with a left hand there. Jack was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jack throws out a counter right but Kok avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jack moves forwards but Kok connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jack takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kok throws a leg kick
and Jack counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jack throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kok keeps Jack at a distance using the push kick.
Kok has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Kok pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jack takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Jack clinches with his opponent.

Kok escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jack uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kok.
Jack avoids the head kick by Kok.
Jack tries to counter with a clinch but Kok shakes him off and moves away.
Kok throws a shot to the body.
Jack keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jack wants to counter the offense by Kok and move into the clinch position.
Kok takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kok throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Both fighters circling a little - Kok finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Kok throws a body punch but Jack moves out of range.
It seemed like Jack was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kok throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kok cracks Jack with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Nice defenses there by Jack.
Jack chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kok can pounce on him.

Jack gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kok breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jack uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kok.
Jack looks to land a right hand but Kok moved out of range.
Jack on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jack slips a jab from Kok.
Kok lands with a slapping head kick.

Jack moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kok is trying to break the clinch but Jack is controlling him.
Jack tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Jack lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Kok's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kok misses with a head kick.
Jack scores with a decent looking hook.
Jack walks into a jab.
Jack drops his hands momentarily and Kok takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jack blocks a jab.
Jack connects with a body shot that sends Kok's belly button to the back.
Kok throws a leg kick
and Jack counters with a stiff right hand.
Kok stuns Jack with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A jab from Kok misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kok lands a slapping body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kok misses with an uppercut. Jack saw that one coming.
Kok throws a right hand that Jack ducks under and follows up with a left that Jack also avoids with ease.
Kok throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Jack throws the left hand but Kok avoids the punch easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kok.
Nice body punch from Jack.
Kok connects with an inside leg kick.
Kok displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jack throws out the jab.
Kok feints and then cracks Jack's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jack down.
Jack swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kok circles away from the clinch attempt.
A bone on bone clash there as Jack blocks the leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chew Kok dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kok throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jack fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kok manages to avoid it.
Kok throws the left hand but Jack avoids the punch easily.
Kok lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chew Kok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kok ducks under a wild hook from Jack.
Kok attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Kok throws a hook but Jack avoids it easily.
Jack needs to keep his hands up - Kok had a free shot at his head there.
Kok throws a wild body kick that Jack sees coming a mile off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kok throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kok throws a front kick aimed at Jack's knee but Jack avoids it well.
Jack looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Jack fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kok checks it well.
Kok misses with a wild body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jack lands with a nice body punch.
Jack on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kok misses with a hook.
Kok sets himself, and Jack steps forward looking for the clinch! Kok avoids it this time.
Kok misses the jab.
Kok throws a big shot that misses.
Jack is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Kok's corner calls for a 1-2. Kok obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kok throws a lazy uppercut
and Jack counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kok fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Kok lands a front kick.
Kok throws a body shot but no joy.
Kok is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jack can do to turn this around?
Jack fails to land with a series of punches.
Kok scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jack connects with an inside leg kick.
Jack thuds his right hand into Kok's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kok throws a sloppy body shot
and Jack counters with a stiff right hand.
Kok scores with a decent looking hook.
Jack gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kok.


Jack is rocked!
Kok with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jack is still on wobbly legs! Can Kok finish him?
Kok jabs Jack right on the nose. Jack blinks but takes it well.
Jack closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kok counters with a big right hand! Oh Jack is in trouble here! Kok follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chew Kok!
As Chew Kok got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Jack Kelly i just made you my bitch....who is next on my hitlist??'.
In defeat, Simple Jack stepped up to the mic, saying 'Never go full retard.'.
