Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 1132 p4p, 151 weight class) and Sergio Garcia (ranked 1473 p4p, 189 weight class). Garcia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ludacris - Beast Mode. Optimus Prime could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sergio Garcia's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Optimus Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergio Garcia!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Garcia.
Prime fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Prime comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Garcia fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Prime is out of range.

We've been hearing reports that Prime has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Garcia takes a swing at Prime's ribcage but misses.

Prime bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Garcia's head backwards.

Prime shoots in looking for a takedown but Garcia manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Prime's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And Garcia tries to counter it with a takedown but Prime pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Garcia cracks Prime with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've been informed that Garcia has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Prime pushes off an throws an elbow but Garcia leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Prime's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Garcia connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Prime scrambles back to his feet.

No joy there for Prime, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Prime takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Garcia scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Garcia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Prime won't be happy with that.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Garcia connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Prime's hands.

Garcia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Garcia drops back looking for a leg! Prime is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Prime manages to kick Garcia off! Garcia jumps back into Prime's guard.

Prime had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garcia defends it easily.
Optimus Prime has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Garcia is working Prime over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Prime wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Garcia manages to pass to side control.

Garcia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Prime doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Garcia.

Sergio Garcia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
