Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cam Newton (ranked 1258 p4p, 173 weight class) and Neil Gilas (ranked 737 p4p, 108 weight class). Newton comes to the cage accompanied by Superman. Gilas has chosen Remember The Name - Fort Minor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilas lands a nice leg kick that just misses Newton's sensitive parts.

A swing and a miss from Newton.
Gilas lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Gilas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Newton to the ground. Gilas is now in Newton's guard.

Newton has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gilas off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Gilas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Newton manages to avoid it.
We've been informed that Gilas has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Gilas lands a strong strike to the head of Newton. That's dazed him! Gilas looking to finish here. Newton is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Gilas lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

A very excited looking Neil Gilas made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
