Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Gunnar (ranked 3378 p4p, 360 weight class) and Alexis Anderson (ranked 3622 p4p, 383 weight class). Anderson has chosen Pony as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunnar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gunnar off to one side.
Gunnar takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd cheers as Anderson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gunnar doesn't seem phased though.
Anderson takes a swing at Gunnar's ribcage but misses.

Gunnar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but Gunnar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gunnar is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Gunnar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Anderson defends it well.

Gunnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Anderson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gunnar seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Gunnar wants to work for an arm triangle but Anderson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gunnar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Anderson tries to get to full guard but Gunnar has control of the leg.

Anderson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Anderson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gunnar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Anderson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gunnar on the side of the head.

Anderson circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Gunnar to the canvas! Gunnar doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Anderson keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
