Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Irving Horn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, R P One!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Horn lands in his opponent's guard.
One is looking to stand back up but Horn counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by One.

Nice strikes from Horn there.
One is looking to improve his position.

Horn stands up out of the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

One closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Horn did well to prevent One getting side control.

Horn has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but One is on him like a limpet, forcing Horn back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Horn jumps guard but One stands there with Horn around his waist. Horn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Horn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. One manages to get himself to full guard.


One is looking for a triangle here but Horn uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Horn cracks One with a big right hand but One just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
One manages to get back to half guard.
Horn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks One with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
One tries to get to full guard but Horn has control of the leg.

One is looking to get to half guard.
Horn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Horn lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Horn is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at One. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
One is really stuck here.
One trying to control the position but Horn manages to sink in the hooks.
One really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Horn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
One might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Horn haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
One can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


One ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Horn moves away.

One shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Horn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Horn has his feet on One's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

One closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Horn sneaks out the side door and pushes One away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

One is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Horn's half guard.

Horn pushes One off and gets back to his feet.

Horn drives through with a takedown into One's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Horn lands a couple of elbows.

One has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Horn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for One.
Horn cracks One with a big right hand but One just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
One takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Horn lands a nice forearm strike.
One can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
One is looking to reverse the position.

One looks to move to half guard but instead Horn has passed into mount! Damn!
One wants to control but Horn is having none of it.
BOOM! Horn connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Horn cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
One tries to lock up and control but Horn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
One is working to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Horn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Horn looking to finish One with some ground and pound. This is bad for One!

One is bucking up trying to escape but Horn cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horn lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
One tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Horn cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


One swinging wildly here.
Irving Horn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

One throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Horn was covering up waiting for the punch and One finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Horn has his feet on One's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Horn seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

One drives through with a takedown into Horn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Horn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Horn decides to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Horn is on top in guard.

One rushes Horn and presses him up against the cage.
Horn jumps guard but One turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Horn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

One gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Horn to score an easy takedown into full guard.
One is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Horn dives into side control.
Horn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that One can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Horn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
