The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Furnica shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Furnica was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Perez tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Perez tries to lock up and control but Furnica gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Furnica has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Perez tries to reverse the position but Furnica maintains control.
The referee warns Perez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Furnica.

Furnica has control of Perez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Perez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Furnica controlling well, preventing Perez from escaping the position.

Perez lands a big head kick that sends Furnica tumbling to the mat! Perez takes a step backwards and waves Furnica back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Viorel Furnica has been cut.
Furnica is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Perez doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Furnica crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Furnica's bad books for that mishap!
