Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Moises Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bjornmodr Ragnarsson!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ragnarsson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ragnarsson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pope is trying to maintain the position but Ragnarsson is very close to passing his half guard.
Ragnarsson controlling the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ragnarsson is working for a kimura here but Pope manages to reverse the position and he's now in Ragnarsson's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ragnarsson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pope throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Ragnarsson slaps away a takedown attempt from Pope, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ragnarsson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pope regains guard immediately.

Pope trying to control the position from guard on top but Ragnarsson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pope darts in looking for a takedown but Ragnarsson gets double underhooks and turns Pope into the cage.
Pope shoots for a takedown but Ragnarsson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pope has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ragnarsson finds it's way round the side to connect with Pope's head.
Pope shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ragnarsson as he avoids it easily.
Ragnarsson unleashes a big counter combination but Pope bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Ragnarsson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pope quickly recovers to half guard.
Ragnarsson wants to advance to full mount but Pope doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Pope controls Ragnarsson momentarily but Ragnarsson frees himself.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Ragnarsson leaves Pope with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ragnarsson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pope is trying to defend but Ragnarsson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ragnarsson throws a strike but Pope rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ragnarsson wants to hit a switch here but Pope passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ragnarsson there!
Pope wants to control the pace but Ragnarsson is squirming around nicely.

Ragnarsson is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Pope has taken his back!

Pope cracks Ragnarsson with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Ragnarsson from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Pope controls the action.
Ragnarsson is trying to get back to his feet but Pope has full control of the position and if anything, Ragnarsson has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Ragnarsson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
You can see the frustration on Ragnarsson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Pope slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Ragnarsson is trying to stand back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pope really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Ragnarsson.

Moises Pope showed his dominance in that final round.
