Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Denis Patrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damien Farlayn!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Farlayn avoids it really well and circles away.
Farlayn throws the kick towards the body but Patrick avoids it.
Patrick fails with a takedown attempt.

Farlayn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Patrick napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Farlayn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Patrick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Patrick dodges the ground and pound from Farlayn.

Farlayn has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Farlayn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Patrick to the mat! Patrick manages to get full guard.

Patrick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Farlayn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Patrick is breathing heavily.
Patrick can't keep his opponent in guard - Farlayn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Farlayn is looking for a kimura but Patrick is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Farlayn to get the leverage.
Farlayn is controlling the pace.

Farlayn not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Patrick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Farlayn on the ground.

Patrick wants to sweep here but Farlayn controlling him for the moment.

Farlayn wants to pass the guard but Patrick is keeping the position.

Patrick gets control of Farlayn's arms and successfully pulls guard. Patrick will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Horrible takedown attempt by Patrick or perhaps it was just good defense by Farlayn, which made it look bad.

Farlayn closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Patrick quickly recovers to half guard.

Farlayn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Farlayn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Patrick moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Patrick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Farlayn is one step ahead there.
Patrick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Damien Farlayn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Farlayn slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Patrick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Farlayn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Patrick sprawls well initially but Farlayn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Patrick wants to control the action here but instead Farlayn manages to pass to full mount!

Farlayn has control of Patrick's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Patrick regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Patrick wants to hold on but Farlayn pushes him away.

Farlayn stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Damien Farlayn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Farlayn tries to advance to mount but Patrick denies him.
