Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Burns (ranked 2925 p4p, 328 weight class) and Pipi Manu (ranked 3698 p4p, 398 weight class). Manu has chosen 'We dont like Cricket' as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Xavier Burns has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manu throws an overhand right that lands on Burns's shoulder, as Burns tries to avoid the shot.
Burns throws a good cross that connects.
Burns connects with the punch.
Manu needs to keep his hands up - Burns had a free shot at his head there.
Manu tries to clinch there but Burns circles away.
Manu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burns as he jumps to the side.
Burns lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Burns defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Manu.
Burns throws a body punch but Manu moves out of range.
And Manu tries to counter it with a takedown but Burns pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Manu tries to clinch but Burns moves out of range.

Burns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Manu on the ground.
Burns wants to control but Manu is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Manu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Burns looks like he's trying to stand up.
Manu throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Burns to regain full guard.

Manu is pushing down on Burns's leg trying to pass to half guard. Burns is fighting to maintain full guard but Manu has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Manu connects with a nice short shot to Burns's temple.
Manu wants to free his trapped foot but Burns is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Manu slips a nice elbow through Burns's hands, connecting with Burns's forehead.

Manu performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Burns pushes Manu off but Manu dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Burns's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Manu in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Burns avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Manu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Manu trying to control the action but Burns is working from the bottom.
The referee asks Manu politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Manu prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Burns tries to buck Manu off but Manu is having none of it.
Burns takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Manu has control of an arm but Burns manages to advance to Manu's back!
Burns is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Manu up.
Burns throws strikes from the back but Manu rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Manu.
Manu doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Manu misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Manu shoots in looking for a takedown but Burns manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Manu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pipi Manu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Burns scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Manu tries to clinch there but Burns circles away.
Burns uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Manu.

Manu moves forwards but Burns connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Burns jabs Manu right on the nose. Manu blinks but takes it well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Burns tries to roll over but Manu keeps him under control.
Manu is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Burns has his hands clasped together around Manu's back. He's all about the action.
Manu is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Burns reverses the position - he's now on top in Manu's guard.
Burns postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Burns is looking to work some ground and pound but Manu has wrist control.
Burns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Burns throws an elbow that misses. Manu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Burns's guard. Nice move by Manu!
Manu seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Burns throws a body shot but no joy.
Burns swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Burns feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Manus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Burns is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Manu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burns sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Manu somewhat.
Burns dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Manu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Burns swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

A punch lands to the side of Burns 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Burns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pipi Manu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Manu moves into the clinch.

Burns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Burns avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Burns was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Manu's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Burns connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Manu scrambles back to his feet.

Manu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burns swivels and escapes.

Burns throws a right and a left that Manu avoids nicely.

Manu takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Manu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Burns is looking for a sweep. Manu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Burns wants to control but Manu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Manu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Burns is staying active underneath Manu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Manu wants to pass to mount but Burns is defending the position.
Manu not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Manu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Burns taking some punishment here, with Manu in his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Manu is nestled in close to Burns, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
