Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blaze Blount (ranked 3935 p4p, 187 weight class) and David Lopes (ranked 6665 p4p, 277 weight class). Blaze Blount has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopes shoots in but Blount avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Blount is looking to counter the offense by Lopes and move into the clinch.
Lopes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Blount rushes Lopes and presses him up against the cage.
Blount swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Blount gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lopes regains guard.
Lopes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blount controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blount throws an elbow that misses. Lopes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blount's guard. Nice move by Lopes!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Blount connects with a nice short shot to Lopes's temple.

Lopes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blount's waist but Blount gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lopes off to one side.

Blount closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lopes quickly recovers to half guard.

Lopes manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
