Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kieth Patton (ranked 6433 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerad Diddle (ranked 3618 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kieth Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerad Diddle!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patton tries to sprawl but Diddle drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patton gets back to full guard.
Diddle is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Patton is trying to control the position but Diddle postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Patton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diddle is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

It looks like Diddle might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Patton wants to stand up but Diddle is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Patton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Diddle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Diddle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Patton defends it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Diddle instigates a clinch.

Diddle will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's time! Patton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Patton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diddle swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diddle tries a head kick but it misses.
Diddle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Patton circles away quickly and effectively.

Diddle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Patton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Diddle throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Diddle slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
You can see the frustration on Patton's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Patton is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Diddle.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Jerad Diddle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Diddle tries to kick Patton off but Patton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Diddle has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Patton is on him like a limpet, forcing Diddle back against the cage.

Diddle jumps guard and drags Patton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kieth Patton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jerad Diddle is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Diddle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
