Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kalathil Ashan (ranked 5829 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Pilsutzki (ranked 6231 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kalathil Ashan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Pilsutzki!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilsutzki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pilsutzki throws a body punch but Ashan moves out of range.
As Pilsutzki tries to get set, Ashan tries to push him back and clinch up but Pilsutzki manages to avoid the attempt.
Pilsutzki stuffs the takedown attempt from Ashan. Ashan gets slowly back to his feet.
Ashan sets himself, and Pilsutzki steps forward looking for the clinch! Ashan avoids it this time.
Pilsutzki misses with a leg kick

and Ashan counters with a single leg into guard. Pilsutzki didn't expect that.

Pilsutzki uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Pilsutzki pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Pilsutzki clinches up against the cage.
Ashan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pilsutzki fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ashan is working for takedown but Pilsutzki is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kalathil Ashan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ashan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Pilsutzki is stalling here.
Ashan wants a takedown.
Pilsutzki swings wildly with an uppercut but Ashan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pilsutzki tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ashan's elbow.

Ashan blocking some punches.
Ashan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pilsutzki after a bit of a struggle.
Pilsutzki tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ashan jumps guard but Pilsutzki turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ashan is looking for a takedown.
Pilsutzki misses with a hook to the ribs.

Ashan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Pilsutzki lands with a short shot to the head.
Ashan prevents a body shot from Pilsutzki.

Pilsutzki lands a nice uppercut.

Ashan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pilsutzki uses from the top position.
Pilsutzki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Pilsutzki has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ashan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pilsutzki is trying to control but can't.

Ashan moves nicely into side control.
Ashan is looking to take a break and control but Pilsutzki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pilsutzki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pilsutzki wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Ashan has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Pilsutzki's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Pilsutzki is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Ashan!
