Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Shelby (ranked 5308 p4p, 520 weight class) and Frank Hackleton (ranked 7892 p4p, 614 weight class). The key to victory for Danny Shelby has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hackleton throws a lazy uppercut
and Shelby counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hackleton takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hackleton shoots and misses
enabling Shelby to counter with a crisp jab.
A nice inside leg kick there by Shelby. That's going to slow Hackleton down.
Hackleton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hackleton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Shelby scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Shelby connects with a body shot that sends Hackleton's belly button to the back.
Hackleton takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Shelby punishes Hackleton's body with a nice straight punch.
Shelby looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hackleton throws a hook but Shelby avoids it easily.
Danny Shelby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shelby scores with a jab to the body.

Shelby lands a body shot.
Hackleton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shelby.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shelby fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hackleton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A slow jab from Hackleton misses its intended target.
Hackleton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shelby moves away.
It looked like Shelby was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hackleton.
Shelby feints and then cracks Hackleton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hackleton down.

and Hackleton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hackleton throws a right hand that misses
and Shelby counters with a nice uppercut.
Shelby fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hackleton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

No luck for Hackleton with that takedown attempt.
Shelby fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A right-left combo lands from Shelby.
Shelby is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Hackleton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shelby manages to avoid it.
Hackleton misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Shelby counter with a right hand.
Good exchange - Shelby coming out on top.
Hackleton looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Hackleton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shelby tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hackleton is in Shelby's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hackleton stands and throws Shelby's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shelby on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shelby tries to get out of the position.
Hackleton is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shelby's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hackleton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shelby is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shelby is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The referee asks Hackleton politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hackleton prefers to stall for the moment though.
Hackleton is working to tighten his grip on Shelby's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Shelby has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hackleton is really squeezing tight and eventually Shelby passes out! Hackleton breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Frank Hackleton!
Frank Hackleton made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Thanks Rogan it;s a real pleasure to be here. I wanna thank my boys back in the camp. Yabaii have been a real support for me over the past two years building up my GnP game and feel it's taken off....I wanted to push my limits and show everyone my submissions game and this was a good way to do that.'.
