Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rutger Howard (ranked 3698 p4p, 135 weight class) and Dalip Singh (ranked 4925 p4p, 170 weight class). Dalip Singh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rutger Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dalip Singh!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard closes the distance looking to clinch

and Singh counters with a single leg into guard. Howard didn't expect that.
Howard is wriggling around but Singh manages to pass to half guard.

Singh is taking a breather. Howard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howard is trying to escape back to his feet but Singh uses the scramble to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Howard has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Howard bucks up and tries to throw Singh off but instead Singh has got his back!
Howard is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Singh cracks Howard with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Howard from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Howard is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
More stalling from Singh.
Singh lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Singh.
Singh keeps control of the position easily here as Howard tries to buck him off.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

What can Howard do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Howard is trying to improve his position.

Singh remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Howard is looking to get back to his feet here but Singh is keeping cool and he's managed to take Howard's back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Singh is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Howard. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Dalip Singh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Singh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
